Concept Plan

Two water color renderings shown below convey the general sense community garden layout and its qualities. The garden design emphasis is organic with natural elements indigenous to our area and with an emphasis on sustainability and ease of maintenance.  The philosophy is to produce the installation using local talent and materials.

Figure 2 above shows a serpentine path to a number of "outdoor arbor rooms" that offer the visitor opportunities to rest and reflect.

Each room is separated by plantings for a touch of privacy.  The site however is visible and public, yet offering a retreat for solace and reflection.

Figure 3 below is the plan with a legend that identifies the major components of the garden.

Figure 4 below is perspective of the plan.  Major plantings offer a park aspect with nearer planting offering color and texture.  Overhead pergolas and arbors provide a ceiling for the garden park walk.  The walk surface will be a solid surface of colored and textured material that retains the natural texture of a nature trail.  Note, the overhead arbor structure is not shown in Figure 4 in order to better illustrate the internal pathway and arbor rooms.
